Staff
The Joseph's House team, overseen by the Executive Director, includes a Medical Director, Nurse Case Managers, RNs, and LPN, Personal Care Aides, an administrative and support staff, and numerous dedicated volunteers. Although each has a role, everyone pitches in as needed to cook a meal, hold a hand, clean a bathroom, or breathe at the bedside through a long day or night.

Patricia Wudel, B.A., Executive Director

 

Ms. Wudel started volunteering for Joseph's House in the early 1990s, often being on-call overnight while working elsewhere fulltime during the day. She has served as Executive Director for Joseph’s House since 1998, and is responsible for overseeing the work while steering its mission. Prior to coming to Joseph’s House, Ms. Wudel was an Assistant at the Daybreak L’Arche community in Toronto. She coordinated care for adults with developmental handicaps. She also served as Executive Assistant to a federal Member of Parliament, Ottawa, managing the office, coordinating research and constituency support, and supervising staff.

Priscilla Norris, R.N., Senior Nurse Case Manager

 

Ms. Norris has more than 20 years of nursing and hospice experience and has served as Senior Nurse Case Manager for Joseph’s House since 2003. She is often the first person a new resident meets, and is responsible for evaluating referrals, assessing needs, working with the support team to develop a plan of care, and seeing that the plan is carried out. A devoted pet person, Priscilla often brings one of her dogs to work, where they provide pet therapy to residents, staff, and volunteers.
